    Description

I've purchased a HUGE collection of vintage fireworks ephemera that was associated with a Danville, Illinois area historical fireworks manufacturer/display company. They were in business since the early 1900's; coming from Italy and bringing their expertise to the U.S. They started out as the Illinois Fireworks Display Company; branched into the World Fireworks Display Company; and purchased and ran the Liberty Fireworks Company that originated in Franklin Park/Maywood, Illinois. There are letterheads/letters/correspondence from many places in the United States and around the world. These date back to the 1920's up into the 1970's. World Fireworks discontinued operations in the 1950's; Liberty Fireworks in the 1970's; and finally the Illinois Fireworks in the early 1990's. There are catalogs; letterheads; advertisements; some labels; and other ephemera from over the years. Just send an email to ask if there is a certain area; industry; or other specific interest that may be in the collection...otherwise, just keep watching my auctions for neat items from the collection.....
    This particular auction is for
a vintage advertising letterhead that has:
"MILE HIGH FIREWORKS - Mile High Quality-Sea Level Price......Denver 11, Colo."
on it. If you know your model rocket history; you know that Vern Estes worked at his fathers factory when he invented the model rocket engine machine; well this is the company his father owned and has signed the letter. This would look great framed and hanging near your collection
(I also have a Zenith Fireworks Signed Letterhead that I will be listing soon....it is where Model Missiles Inc. was getting there rocket engine material before they got it from Vern)
. This is dated April 15, 1955. This was sent to the Liberty Fireworks Display Co. in the Franklin Park, Illinois area. This has
surface wear and blemishes; soiling/staining; creases/tears; staple wear; bottom corner tear; other blemishes and wear; etc.
