    Description

Charlie Weaver was a character created by Cliff Arquette and first appeared on the Jack Paar evening TV talk show in the 1950's. Charlie was a bartender, jovial and joke telling. This tin battery operated toy stands 12 inch tall and 5 inch wide.  He is wearing brown pants and his shirt is a bit worn. He has a cocktail shaker in one hand and a glass in the other. The magic of this toy is that, with batteries, he will shake all around and steam will come out of his ears. Batteries are not included. He is made of plastic and the bar is made of pressed lithographed tin. His hat is a bit dented. There is an on/off switch. Sometimes he works, sometimes he doesn't. I believe there is an electrical short in the wires.
FYI: Charlie Weaver a/k/a Cliff Arquette, also played Mrs. Butterworth on TV advertising maple syrup. He also was on Hollywood Squares from its beginning in 1966 until his death in 1974. He always occupied the lower left square. He is also grandfather to current actors David, Rosanna and Patricia Arquette.
