Gransfors Bruks Small Forest Axe 420 + Axe Stone + Guaranty Made in Sweden
    The perfect gift?
The gift box from Gränsfors contain small Forest Axe, a ceramic stone and Axe book and comes in a touch-friendly packaging.
    Small Forest Axe:
Gränsfors Small Forest Axe have larger heads and longer shaft than the Wilderness axe and therefore give better effect when cutting.
The axe is not greater than it goes down in a backpack and is very well suited to cutting trees and pruned with.
Characteristic of forest axe is that the cutting edge is long and rounded, with a flat and elongated axe head.
It is designed for cutting of wood fibre, which is good for felling and limbing, unlike wood splitting when hewn goes along with the wood grain.
Gränsfors Axes are forged by very skilled smiths.
The proof of this skill is that they can forge axes with such precision that no post-processing is needed and this is what distinguishes Gränsfors Axes from other industrially manufactured axes.
Axe shaft is manufactured by Hickory, a low wood fibre.
The long fibres making the wood both strong and flexible, and that the shaft is made of this wood makes it even greener than the handles of plastic or fiberglass.
The handle is treated with linseed oil and beeswax, and its form will provide a firm grip, even when hands are kept far out, giving more power and safer felling.
    Axe Stone:
    The grindstone is
composed of ceramic abrasive whose grain structure is designed to best meet the need of both a coarse and a fine grinding.
The stone's rougher side has grain size 180 and is meant to be used for damage and wear coarser and finer hand, grain size 600, and is for fine grinding.
Grain composition makes the stone both persistent and tenacious.
Unlike natural stone, a ceramic grindstone is obtained with a more precise grain size.
The stone shape is round and flat with bevelled edges to provide a round transition.
The fine side represents 2/3 of the thickness, then the page is usually used and worn the most.
The stone is normally used with water, but can be used dry.
The grindstone has a protective rubber shell.
    Axe Book
To provide information on the axes and share their ideas and values have Gränsfors Burk developed
    Axe Book
    .
The book describes, among other things, the company's philosophy, their 'axes, the production of axes goes to and how an axe should be used and managed.
