The finely woven minute strands of cotton are spun into larger yarns, which create the actual casing with the highest attention to detail for a perfectly round structure. This is Corespun technology, and it has proven itself in the pro peloton, and track World and Olympic competition. Over the casing, the Kevlar SiO2 3D tread rubber employs a natural rubber infused with silica for amazing traction and grip, even when moisture or dust are present. This compound also exhibits a very low rolling resistance to maximize speed by reducing friction at the point of contact. The Pists EVO CS carries a fine diamond tread that is perfect for wood indoor track surfaces for both training and racing, and is very effective for racing on indoor or outdoor concrete tracks. The rider does not feel the tread, but knows it is working to hold the best lines and maintain speed at all times. One note for concrete track use. The extreme light weight of this tire means less overall mileage and protection. We recommend a competition-only use on concrete. The standard Pista CS is better equipped to handle training on these harsher surfaces, and employs the same tread pattern, so transitioning to the EVO CS for racing is smooth.
