Description
I am pleased to offer a beautiful vintage teacup and saucer set made by Shelley, England
Prized QUEEN ANNE shape with its octagonal shape and offsetting saucer in a very Art Deco influence style
Extremely fragile and transluscent bone china which made Shelley famous and so collectible the world over
FLASHES AND FLOWERS pattern 11664
Likely dates from the 1930s
Hand painted over transfer with enamelled details
Trimmed in hand painted burned ochre
The offsetting flashes and in bright red and green
The Queen Anne shape is shown throughout "Collecting Shelley Pottery" by Robert Prescott-Walker such as pages 66 and 75
Both pieces in excellent vintage condition with no cracks, chips, hairlines or restoration and both pass the ping perfectly
Very minor wear to the pattern and hand painting noted
A few rough spots on top of handle point handle to which the glaze did not adhere resulting in small bubbles, a few pin pricks  of black on the white bone china surfaces
All factory original
I will leave any attempts at cleaning to the new owner
Teacup measures 4 1/4" across (including handle) and is 2 1/2" tall; saucer is 5 3/4" across the widest part
Both pieces marked with typical SHELLEY England shield mark in green and pattern 11664 handpainted
Please ignore all white spots on photos caused by camera flash
