TN Nomura Speed Star Bumper Car Tin Toy Battery Operated Made in Japan Used

RARE TN Nomura Speed Star bumper car, battery operated tin toy. Made in Japan and packaged as "Happy Drive Car", this motorized toy with "mystery action" and engine lights was purchased in the late 60's. The paint is in good condition for its age with nice litho details. The clear plastic "engine" cover and headlights are intact along with the steering wheel, rubber bumper strip, and plastic boy driver. I installed new batteries, but was unable to make the toy operate. This is probably due to batteries that leaked and corroded the contacts at some point in the past. Some of the assembly tabs that hold the toy together are also broken. This toy is a nice-looking display item and would make a fine addition to any toy collection.
