Description
This listing is for a Vintage 1950s Cragstan Tin Toy Battery Operated TWA DC-7C Airliner Made In Japan. The wingspan measures 23 1/2” long, nose to tail 21” long, ground to top of tail 6 3/4” tall. When the airliner runs each prop starts separately and when all four are running the plane starts moving for a short distance, stops and then the passenger door opens and a flight attendant appears and through the passenger windows it looks as though the passengers are disembarking. All the electrical components work when the batteries are wired directly to the main motor terminals but when the batteries are placed in the battery compartment and the wings are attached none of the electrical components run which indicates that there is probably a short in the on and off switch on the wing. The inside battery compartment has been treated with rust preventer to eliminate light surface rust on the interior metal. Two of the propellers have one blade missing. The red plastic light dome is missing as is the lower motor cover. With all that said, this is a still great looking large battery operated TWA airliner and makes a great display. This
Cragstan Tin Toy Battery Operated TWA DC-7C Airliner is being sold as for parts only not as a complete working toy.
