    Description

    WELSH LOVESPOON
This is a new, hand-made Welsh lovespoon. The custom of giving lovespoons has existed in Wales for over 300 years. The hand-made spoon was a token of lasting affection made by a young man for his sweetheart.
Today, spoons made by local craftsmen still can be given with love or affection, or just as a unique gift.
This spoon measures 11 1/2 inches long by 2 inches wide.
Symbols on this spoon include 2 hearts: in Welsh that is called "Dwy Galon," meaning "togetherness."
The padlock with it's keyhole in Welsh
represents the security of true love and the availability of the heart's affection to the holder of the key. The Welsh word for keyhole is "twll y clo," in English meaning "key to my heart."
